Review:

When playing a game, you could play alone, or you could play with the friends you have, and in this game, Lethal Company, communication is key. Lethal Company was made solely by a man named Zeekerss, and he managed to create something fierce that is highly regarded as one of the best horror games on Steam.

The game takes you as a newly hired member of the Company, and it’s your job to collect random scraps from moon bases and sell them for profit. But you need to avoid traps and monsters to escape with your loot. You and up to 4 friends communicate in the game’s proxy chat to maximize the profits or make some funny screams if you are killed. After every third excursion, you need to sell the loot you collected in order to make money, and you can use some of this money to gain some useful items, like flashlights, walkie-talkies, and even new costumes for the crew to wear. It’s actually quite fun to get into these shenanigans with your friends, despite the horrifying monsters that get in your way. These monsters range from giant bugs, slimes, giant dogs, wasps, and tons of more that are in your way.

While playing alone is an option, it’s recommended that you need a crew to work with, and they offer random rooms that are open in case you wanna pair up with someone new. There are endless parties to join, with endless moons to explore, all to try to fill the quota and do a hard day’s work while employed by the company. But get up to 3 friends to join you, and you can either get farther than anyone can get, or you can fool around with the game and have fun.

The controls of the game are what you expect. You jump, run, collect, and even use some of the items you’re supposed to sell as makeshift weapons, like stop signs and yield signs. And you get to do this inside and outside of the bases, and even the environment outside is unique, depending on what moon you head to. On one moon you get to see a lush forest, and on another, you see a baron wasteland. The environments in this game are numerous and extremely varied, depending on the condition they’re in. The worse the condition, the more monsters you'll encounter, but the higher the chance you’ll get more valuable loot.

As a bonus, Lethal Company has added an arachnophobia mode which replaces the spider enemy with the word “spider”. It’s both hilarious and thoughtful to care for the player base. It’s nice to see that a game like this can cater to those who are squeamish against these 8 legged monstrosities.

In conclusion, Lethal Company has been a triumph in gameplay, showcasing the power of friendships, both new and old, while working together for a common goal. It may be scary to some people, but if you overcome it, it’s actually one of the best multiplayer games on Steam. I highly recommend checking this game out on Steam. It’s worth the money and time to check this out.
